Innovez One has launched the first ever mobile version of its flagship software marineM as an app for Keppel SMIT Towage, one of the largest and leading Harbour tug service providers in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. This new step will make digital solutions more accessible to users and encourage their adoption by a larger number of ports.
The new application enables shipping agents to book nautical services for pilotage, towage or workboats directly from their mobile phones. It also allows them to monitor the status and timings of their orders, with real-time updates.
In most ports, arranging for those services currently requires multiple calls between agents and operators, as orders and updates are communicated verbally and recorded manually – a process which is time-consuming and lacks efficiency.
The app replaces this manual communication with a user-friendly interface that allows users to quickly access information and make bookings. It was developed to respond to the needs of shipping agents, who require flexible solutions as they are constantly on the move while coordinating logistics. The practicality and flexibility of the mobile application also makes it an essential tool for operators, who are keen to use it to make bookings on behalf of agents.
By gathering precise information on the duration of jobs, the marineM app also greatly facilitates the billing process.
Another step towards smart ports
The launch of its first mobile application is the latest development for Innovez One’s constantly evolving port management software marineM. By making this ground-breaking software even more accessible and convenient for users, the new app will facilitate the adoption of digital solutions by ports – thereby helping Innovez One achieve its ambition of enabling small and medium ports (which represent 80% of ports worldwide) to compete as smart ports.
At a time when port leaders must continually compete on efficiency and sustainability, digitalisation has the potential to save money and time, reduce inefficiencies, and cut fuel consumption and emissions. This is already a reality in many large ports, but small and medium-size ports too can “future-proof” their activities through digital solutions – benefitting their stakeholders as well as wider communities.
