STAFF and students in an institution often need to consult their personal timetable.   Scientia designed the Web Grid Report Requester (WGRR) precisely to meet this need.

Instead of authorising thousands of users individually, WGRR authorises them through designated roles.   Timetables requested, in the form of Reports, can be displayed on screen or printed.

The system eliminates the requirement to permit access to such Reports through the Authorisation Manager.   Instead, permission is granted by the simple adoption of roles.

Another application, the Enterprise Grid Report Designer, publishes the timetables in specific grid-style formats and layouts.   The user cannot alter the report’s layout.   He or she can, however, set particular parameters for the Report requested such as:

• Object of the Report.
• Layout of the Report.
• Details of the Report such as weeks, days and periods to be included.

Finally, the user receives the requested Report in a PDF from WGRR.   Users may opt to:

• View their Report on screen.
• Save the Report in electronic form.
• Email the Report in an attachment.
• Print a copy of the Report.
