Web Data Collector system computes manual task 13th Jul 2009, 2:05 pm by Derek Yeo

PRIMARILY, the Enterprise Web Data Collector (WDC) application replaces manual collection of data.

The software’s salient features are:

  • Every action or step captured in an audit trail (who, when, what, where, why and how).
  • User-friendly with minimum training for the operator.
  • Input done electronically making physical data re-entry redundant.
  • Optimum quality of data in terms of accuracy and currency.
  • System customization to cater for user’s terminology.

Electronic data collection frees staff for more efficient use of their time.  Less labour-intensive staff work, such as less manual data validation results in a shorter lead time between data delivery and creation of a timetable.

High data quality cuts down the ‘cleaning’ process between the timetable’s circulation and when teaching starts.   In effect, this eradicates eleventh-hour revisions and clashes.

WDC permits course specialists to request and make direct changes to their timetable requirements.
